Drones Go Collegiate as They Tailgate at Football Game on Saturday

When (3 and 0) North Dakota State takes on South Dakota State (2 and 0) in a battle of unbeaten rivals there will be something that has never legally occurred before,  there will be drones flying over Fargodome parking lots of E, F and G.  The drones are scheduled to fly between 9 am and 1 pm on Saturday.

As part of it’s testing of commercial drone applications,  the FAA working with North Dakota Unmanned Aircraft Systems team to test flight over people for the first time in this setting.  It is one of a number of initiatives that are occurring in different sites around the US.   Some of these are showing positive results including allowing flights as an exception basis for commercial insurance claims as a result of Hurricane Florence.
