AUVSI’s Novus Unmanned event, run by the Investorfest Venture Acceleration Program, brings the best new drone tech to investors.

The event will take place in San Francisco on November 1.  The one day program will include keynote addresses on the future of the drone industry and networking opportunities for startups, investors, and service providers.  But the highlight will be the technology presentations by a group of top entrepreneurs in drone technology, chosen as finalists by a panel of experts.

AUVSI announced the first four finalists yesterday.

ANRA Technologies has received major buzz in the industry.  Their innovative DRONEOSS operations platform is designed for the next steps in commercial drone operations.  Fleet management, command and control, flight planning, data analytics and more have all been developed to function now and anticipate future developments like BVLOS flight.  In addition, ANRA has been a major contributor to the global efforts to develop a UTM platform, chosen to present at the ICAO conference on Unmanned Traffic Management solutions.

“We are excited to be selected – there’s a lot going on in our industry now, and this is a great opportunity for ANRA and the other finalists to display our new technologies and ideas,” says Founder and CEO Amit Ganjoo.

EZ3D has developed a tool for one of the fastest growing verticals in commercial drones – roofing inspections.  Inspections and measurements offer one of the clearest benefits of drone technology to construction professionals, offering a dramatically cheaper and safer way to gather data.  EZ3D provides a mobile app that will allow drone operators to use a DJI drone to capture data and then turn that data into accurate inspection reports and roofing measurements.

Ascent produces the Sprite, a small “portable and rugged” drone.  It’s a truly unique aircraft that fits easily into a backpack – even the water bottle pocket on the side.  It’s a modular design that is highly water resistant and extremely durable.  Sprite’s small size is packed with features including options for autonomous flight, follow-me capabilities, and building mapper or survey flight modes.

OneSky offers an innovative flight awareness platform.  OneSky’s concept of a network of micro control towers, gathering data made available in real-time on a platform available to all of the traffic in the area, is a new approach to the issue of airspace safety and collision avoidance.  The Alpha One is their micro control tower, available in different versions depending upon the needs of the application.

As the drone industry continues its explosive growth trajectory, investors are racing to identify the next technology trend.  These four finalists represent just some of the next leaders in the industry.
